The Aarhus-based tech startup Snowii wants to simplify the booking of ski vacations for Danes. Snowii differentiates itself from existing solutions by being the first platform not owned by a travel agency. The platform, which went live on September 9, 2024, is designed to help ski enthusiasts navigate the confusing ski travel market, where over 50 different providers compete for customers’ attention.

“It can be difficult for the average ski enthusiast to find the best trip for the money because they have to search on many different sites to get an overview, and we want to make that easier and more manageable,” says Emil Jess Jensen, ski guide and co-founder of Snowii in a press release.
The project will make it easier for the 700,000 Danes who go skiing every year to find the best deals.
First independent comparison portal
What’s unique about Snowii is that the platform works independently of travel providers, meaning they don’t prioritize offers based on self-interest. Users are simply redirected to the different travel companies without the platform itself selling travel. This makes it possible to create an objective and user-friendly overview.
“As a comparison portal, our main job is to present users with an easy and clear overview of the best travel options, not what we get the most out of,” says Emil Jess Jensen.
Snowii states that their platform will show trips from all Danish travel companies that organize ski trips, giving users a credible and complete overview of possible ski holidays.
“I’m excited to go live because I believe we can make a difference – both for the consumer, but also for the travel companies. If we can give Danes a better booking experience and send them skiing without breaking the bank, we will also help the providers get more travelers, and that is our goal,” says Emil Jess Jensen.
The platform is free for users and their reservations will be secured through the Travel Guarantee Fund.
