The aim of the project is for more green research to benefit society. Therefore, new models of collaboration between researchers, entrepreneurs and the business community are being created.

“Innovative technologies go through a long maturation process before they can survive on market terms, and that process requires several different disciplines,” says Thomas Hofman-Bang, CEO of the Danish Industry Foundation, about the project.

Passion for both research and entrepreneurship

There will be 75 entrepreneurial teams made up of talented students, experienced researchers and business professionals with relevant expertise in specialized areas.

The goal is that at least 30 new startups will grow out of the project:

“The approach can allow researchers to pursue their passion for research while contributing to solutions to societal challenges. It’s an opportunity for them to engage in entrepreneurship without leaving the academic world,” says Lone Ryg Olsen Business Director at Aarhus University, where Deep Green Innovators is led from.
