Ecosystem meets once again for big startup event in Aarhus

This post is also available in: Danish

On May 23, Startup Aarhus will once again gather the Aarhus ecosystem in Turbinehallen for Aarhus Townhall. Doors open at 17:00 and the program continues until 21:00. Afterwards, the festivities will continue at the gastropub Tir na nÓg for a great afterparty.

Startup Aarhus is a non-profit organization created to put Aarhus’ startups on the world map. And this mission is something that CEO at Startup Aarhus, Mette Hoberg Tønnesen, takes very seriously:

“We have a strong community of founders and investors in the area, but every year there are new ones who need to find their way in. Townhall is where we open the doors to new and seasoned founders and where challenges and opportunities in the market are discussed. Our goal is for Townhall to be a breeding ground for startups’ budding new ideas, partnerships and investments.”

This year’s theme is about survival

The theme of this Townhall ‘How NOT to die’ is definitely something most founders can relate to. Inspired by the legendary co-founder of Y-Combinator, Paul Graham, and his essay on “How not to die”, it explores the concept of surviving against all odds – and not just surviving, but thriving and coming out stronger on the other side.

Mette Hoberg Tønnesen will be this year’s hostess and welcome a strong stage program consisting of Sara Naseri, co-founder of Qvin, Geeta Schmidt, co-founder of Humio, Mads Rydahl, co-founder of Proemial, Ditte Højland, co-founder of Textile Change and Maria Flyvbjerg from HSBC.

The last part of the stage show will feature an international input from Michael Tefula from the British venture fund Ada Ventures, who will also reveal their ten chosen Ada Angels from their new ‘Angel program ‘ in Denmark.

The partners that make Townhall possible are EIFO, Founderment, Clean, The Kitchen and Innovation Fund Denmark, Ada Ventures and Food & Biocluster Denmark. And if you can’t join us now, you can already mark your calendar for October 10, when the next Townhall will take place.
