SaaS company Hakio raised DKK 30 million for growth back in February and is now focused on scaling. By joining the Google Startup Program, they now have the opportunity to further accelerate growth with access to a robust infrastructure through Google Cloud.
The new partnership will accelerate the pace of making artificial intelligence an integral part of supply chains. In practice, Hakio will enable fashion brands and retailers to make data-driven decisions so they can stock the right quantities at the right times.
Malthe Bjerg Vittrup, co-founder and CEO of Hakio, has previously explained what the integration of machine learning can do for businesses:
“By removing bias when creating a baseline forecast and then including expert knowledge in an elegant and easy-to-use platform, fashion brands can increase planning accuracy and reduce operational costs and working capital. This means that companies can free up funds that they can use elsewhere,” he says.
Entrepreneurs are important to tech giants
Startups like Hakio give Google and other big tech companies access to new ideas and innovation. Conversely, Google has a strong market presence and all the resources needed for projects that challenge the status quo.
That’s why you see many of the big players at events in the ecosystem:
“Google’s DNA is to innovate, which is why startups are crucial to us. Our participation in TechBBQ helps create awareness among young startups that the opportunity to collaborate with Google exists,” Christel Nielsen, VC Business Development and Startup Program Manager at Google, previously told Danish Industry.
