With a heavy investment, platform company Barma is now even stronger in its ambitions to scale abroad. The company is looking forward to an exciting time as it aims to improve communication, training and onboarding for hospitality staff.
Søren Fuhr, Hans Kristoffer, who runs the investment company Anyhow , and Emil Skjold, who is behind the investment company Cand.selv, are the new investors behind the crucial investment.
“With the new investors, we really get some competent people on board. Emil has a deep understanding of the industry, Søren has a great knowledge of scaling internationally and Hans is just a tech guru without equal. I have no doubt that their perspectives will significantly boost the business,” says Lasse Nørremark, CEO and co-founder of Barma.
An investment that will take Barma to new horizons
The investment is not only a financial support, but also marks an active participation as part of the new ownership agreement. Søren, Hans and Emil will now also be an active part of the organization themselves. Søren takes on the commercial side of things with a firm focus on international markets. Hans will be responsible for the technology, while Emil joins the executive board and day-to-day operations, alongside Lasse Nørremark, who rejoins the company as CEO after a period away from operations.
Barma’s other co-founder, Simon Gad, will also continue as a partner, albeit to a lesser extent, and will be part of the operations with responsibility for the product itself for as long as it makes sense.
The addition of the experienced forces comes in the wake of Barma’s focus on product development and the desire to focus on the Scandinavian markets.
“Previously, Barma’s tech setup has been somewhat broadly based in Poland and a couple of different development houses in Denmark. However, despite a skilled in-house CTO, it hasn’t worked as smoothly as it could. We are now taking the consequences of this in the new setup and insourcing our development. Here we get a significantly leaner setup, where it’s not far from commercial thought to functionality in the hands of the users,” says Hans Kristoffer Chief technology officer (CTO) and Partner.
With a vision for expansion, a willingness to handle software development in-house and an injection of millions, a new adventure is unfolding from the City of Smiles.
