New investment to secure critical healthcare solution with AI-based physiotherapy

Welfare is facing some major critical challenges in the coming years, with an increasing number of elderly and chronically ill people. Meeting the growing demand for healthcare services will require extra effort, but with the help of healthcare innovation, it may be possible to make it happen.

Aarhus-based Trifork, the company behind health apps such as ‘my doctor’ and ‘Telma’, works with a vision to improve healthcare services using advanced technology. This vision is shared by Rokoko Care, which has now given up 22% of its ownership of Trifork in an investment.

“With an aging population and increasing demands on a healthcare system under pressure, there is an urgent need for digital home care solutions. Rokoko Care’s platform fits well into Trifork’s portfolio of healthcare solutions that support treatment at home and the entire patient journey. Technically, it is a great advantage that Rokoko Care’s computer vision technology works on citizens’ own devices,” says Karen Skjerbæk Jørgensen, CCO of Trifork Digital Health in a press release.

Global IT company to help out

Rokoko Care’s solution works via a web portal for physiotherapists and an app for citizens where physiotherapists can give citizens their rehabilitation programs to take home. Their technology allows citizens to exercise in front of their phone, which live-tracks their movements. The fact that physiotherapists can follow the training remotely and support their work with data increases the completion rate of the training program.

Matias Søndergaard, CEO and co-founder of Rokoko Care, says the following about the collaboration:

“Even though we haven’t been around for a long time on paper, the timing of our solution is perfect. We believe that the future of healthcare will be a combination of physical and digital solutions offered with the citizen at the center. With the new partnership, we can spread our solution to many more people and help create good innovative solutions for the healthcare system. So we are very much looking forward to the partnership.”

Trifork is a global IT company that develops innovative software solutions in collaboration with its customers. The company has 1275 employees across 72 business units with offices in 15 countries and is listed on the Copenhagen Stock Exchange.
