For too long, conventional business plans have been insufficient for startups to build their business.
That is the foundation for the GrowthWheel; a visual toolkit for startups and growth companies that helps founders make decisions and build their business. It works with simple action-oriented processes that support the way most business owners work.
“I started the Growth Wheel because as a serial entrepreneur, I’ve coached many other entrepreneurs who often found it overwhelming to make decisions and prioritize what was important. Many wrote business plans that afterwards were just tucked away in a drawer. I needed a structure that reflects the way founders actually work,” says David Madié, Founder and CEO of GrowthWheel.
This approach has resonated. Since 2008, the GrowthWheel has been a basic tool in the public business promotion system. Over 1,000 Danish business consultants have used the tool to help over half a million companies globally with a 360-degree screening of their business.
“As an entrepreneur, every day is about prioritization. There are always a lot of options and that’s where the GrowthWheel helps you decide what to prioritize. It’s a way of getting an overview of the possibilities. And it usually helps founders make better decisions,” explains David Madié.
The GrowthWheel is designed on the premise that all businesses – in all industries and life stages – face four basic challenges: creating an attractive business concept, building a strong organization, developing lasting customer relationships, and running a profitable and sustainable business.
“Starting a business is a complex thing. Whether it’s a bakery or a tech company, they face the same challenges; what does my product portfolio look like, does the company have the right skills for the job? GrowthWheel is a way for founders to take ownership of their decisions,” says David Madié.
