Players 1st is expanding: Experienced serial entrepreneur becomes new Head of Marketing

This post is also available in: Danish

With the online media Trendsonline.dk, he helped make “startup” a part of the Danish language in the 10s – a media that also helped launch TechBBQ, which has since become the largest startup event in Denmark.

He has since founded Valuer.ai, with which he had an abrupt breakup before the company went public in 2021. Most recently, he co-founded Inch by Inch – a learning platform for soccer players. But after 20 years as a serial entrepreneur and ecosystem profile, Daniel Laursen is about to try something new: He has just been hired as Head of Marketing for the Aarhus startup Players 1st.

“The wrinkles on my face and the reading glasses tell me that many years have passed and now it’s time to try something different. After many talks, much coffee and many walks over the past year with Morten Bisgaard from Players 1st. I have decided that my next endeavor will be to help grow and improve the customer experience in the golf industry. So I have decided to take on the role of full-time Chief Marketing Officer (at Players 1st ed.),” Daniel Laursen writes on Linkedin.

In the post, he admits that golf is not his strongest sport – but he still draws inspiration from the sport’s greatest in this new role:

“As a digital marketer, I strive to be the Tiger Woods of the digital arena, scaling digital products with precision and scoring success with every strategic swing. I guarantee that in the process, I will use all my knowledge, read the green and try to win the trophies Players 1st deserves as a company.”
