For over a decade, TechBBQ has been emerging as a unique platform in the world of entrepreneurship and innovation, fueled by dynamic and dedicated stakeholders. At the core of TechBBQ’s mission lies the ambition to address challenges including access to talent and capital.
Central to TechBBQ’s efforts is matchmaking startups and scaleups with potential investors, talents and corporations to drive these emerging businesses toward growth and success. The 2-day summit gathers stakeholders to network, discuss relevant topics and in an engaging way tap into everyone’s potential and lift the tech, innovation and startup ecosystem in Denmark and the Nordics.
Expanding possibilities beyond the Summit
With a vision of being more than a Summit, TechBBQ continuously expands initiatives that support startup ecosystems growth. Throughout the year, the TechBBQ team leads projects fueled by specific foundations and governmental bodies.
Our project “Hero Academy” is a fully-funded dynamic training program for founders supported by Copenhagen Municipality. This program is specifically designed for early-stage entrepreneurs, catering to the needs of seed and pre-seed startups. Variety of resources are provided to further develop of founders, such as unique sparring, matchmaking and mentoring led by Michael Wiatr, General Partner at Antler, Victor Riparbelli, co-founder of Synthesia and Christian Bach, co-founder of Netlify.
The project “Life Science without Borders” is funded by the Novo Nordisk Foundation and supported by partners such as Symbion, BioInnovation Institute, DTU Science Park, Danish Life Science Cluster and others. The project is dedicated to breaking down barriers and expanding the horizons of Life Science startups. At core of it all lies the promotion of entrepreneurship in the Life Science industry throughout collaboration, support, and global networking.
Engagement with the local ecosystem
We also ensure that TechBBQ engages with local community players this year. We kickstarted a very successful pilot called “TalkBBQ on Tour” in collaboration with Beyond Beta. The tour aimed to support founders across Denmark by providing a platform to learn, discuss relevant local founder’s challenges, share successful journeys and network in a chilled set-up with new and familiar faces from the Danish startup community.
