With several early-stage startups behind her, Katja Meyer has a toolbox full of knowledge that the entrepreneurs at Aarhus University’s incubatorAn incubator is a supportive environment that helps early-stage startups by offering resources, mentorship, networking opportunities, and a physical workspace. Katja Meyer has co-founded two startups THE UPCYCL and DataContexts, and in addition to her new job as Startup Advisor, she also continues in her newly appointed role as Ada Angel & Scout at Ada Ventures:
“It’s a huge responsibility to be able to help entrepreneurs realize their visions. I’ve been through the mill several times myself, so I have no doubt that the things I’ve learned can help and inspire other entrepreneurs to run fast in the right direction. We need that if we are to solve some of the massive societal and climate challenges we face,” says Katja Meyer.
A familiar face
As partner and co-owner of THE UPCYCL, Katja Meyer was instrumental in boosting the circular economy by matching companies across industries with surplus materials. THE UPCYCL continues to grow and Katja remains in the ownership circle. Her other startup, DataContexts, which she still co-owns, focuses on data management in value chains, specializing in sustainability. They offer systems that automate workflows and improve data quality.
With this recruitment, The Kitchen gains knowledge in practical entrepreneurship and strengthens the bridge between academia and the wider ecosystem:
