Among investors and entrepreneurs alike, Sisse Melsen is a very familiar face. Now she is taking on new challenges at the non-profit organization The Link, which works to create the optimal framework for the startup environment in Aarhus through the brand Startup Aarhus.

From her role as COO of DanBan, Sisse Melsen has a thorough knowledge of the ecosystem, which she will use actively at The Link in her work to help Aarhus startups via Startup Aarhus.

“I can see and feel that there are so many exciting things happening in the ecosystem that I want to be a part of. When I was offered the position at The Link, there was no doubt that it was the right thing for me,” says Sisse Melsen to TechSavvy and continues:

“I have some management experience and a great knowledge of the industry, which I will use to continue the great success story that Startup Aarhus already is.”

Will set new goals for Startup Aarhus

When Sisse Melsen joined DanBan in 2017, she describes it as a group of loosely organized investors, and her first task was to organize an inspiration trip to Silicon Valley. Today, DanBan is a well-oiled organization with over 300 angel investors and a thorough, systematized onboarding process.

As COO of The Link and Startup Aarhus, Sisse Melsen also has big ambitions to connect startups in Aarhus better – both with each other and with investors.

“We need to start defining a 2.0 version of ourselves so that we are geared up to achieve the goals we set ourselves. We need to define the exact goals, but basically we want to create a favorable ecosystem that encourages entrepreneurship and makes it manageable. The Link already has a really good foundation, so now we need to build on it in true startup spirit,” explains Sisse Melsen.
