Aarhus-based startup Clutch Nutrition has secured a significant investment from the Swedish angel network CMEC. This investment will strengthen Clutch Nutrition’s position in the health-oriented beverage market in Denmark and supports their long-term plans for expansion into the Nordic and European markets.

Clutch Nutrition, which previously gained attention in the TV program The Lion’s Den in 2023, is behind a brand new type of soda, Clutch® InnoSoda®. The product differs from traditional sodas, which contain either fast-absorbing sugars or artificial sweeteners, by offering a health-promoting drink based on dietary fiber and slow-release carbohydrates. The innovation has received support from Innovation Fund Denmark and is already available in major supermarket chains such as Føtex and Bilka.

“There was evidence to develop a new and healthy alternative that can help people maintain the slim line while offering an appropriate physiological effect without side effects,” says founder and molecular biologist Rune Rønhave Laursen in a press release.

The new capital from CMEC and continued support from existing investor Voluntas Holding means that Clutch Nutrition now has the opportunity to expand their production and reach even more consumers.

“We are super proud to present a true health-promoting soda with dietary fiber that both tastes great and can help solve the health challenges that soda is often associated with,” says co-founder Martin Kilic.
