On October 31, ambitious fashion and lifestyle entrepreneurs will gather at Aarhus City Hall to participate in Lifestyle Growth 2024, where themes such as recycling, relationships and exclusive sneakers will set the agenda. Six selected startups will present their ideas to investors and business people in the hope of getting capital and mentoring support for their projects.
Lifestyle Growth is an initiative created by Lifestyle & Design Cluster in collaboration with Sydbank. It provides a unique platform for entrepreneurs to get sparring and build relationships with experienced mentors and investors, including Christian Stadil from Thornico, who is leading the panel. For entrepreneurs working with sustainable and circular solutions, this opportunity can be crucial for their further development.
The winners among the six participating entrepreneurs receive advice, network access and memberships, which has previously paved the way for startups such as Timestone, Skagen Clothing, LabFresh and Copenhagen Cartel.
Meet the six startups pitching for LifeStyle Growth here:
TextileChange, Vejle
TextileChange is on a mission to rethink how textile fibers are produced and recycled. The company was founded in 2020 by three engineering students who began experimenting with new ways to recycle textile waste. The result is a technology that processes fibers at the molecular level and transforms discarded textiles into new raw materials like cellulose and polyester. The goal is to create a future where textile waste becomes high-quality recycled fiber – reducing the need for new resources. TextileChange has already grown with the establishment of a test factory.
Seven Oceans, Copenhagen
Seven Oceans was founded with a simple but important mission: to reduce waste in the world’s oceans by recycling discarded wetsuits. Since the company’s inception, they have transformed these wetsuits into eco-friendly yoga mats that combine comfort, grip and sustainability. Seven Oceans is more than just a company; it’s a movement towards a more sustainable lifestyle.
Noeje, Aarhus
Noeje was founded in 2023 by Camilla Holm Pallesen, driven by a passion for design and craftsmanship. The focus is on creating durable design objects that have both aesthetic and functional longevity. In close collaboration with local craftsmen and designers, such as Hans Sandgren Jakobsen and Poul Volther, furniture and objects with history and character are created. Noeje produces locally and works with local, renewable resources. Overall, the company strives for circular principles so that each design can be passed down through generations. Noeje wants to create simple, sculptural objects that contribute to a more sustainable future.
The Sneaker Store, Aarhus
Since its founding in April 2021, The Sneaker Store has wanted to revolutionize sneaker culture in Denmark. Founded by Frederik and Gustav, both passionate sneakerheads, the dream of creating Denmark’s leading sneaker store quickly became a reality. With over 190,000 followers on social media and more than 40,000 customers, the company has made a name for itself in record time. The Sneaker Store are experts in exclusive sneakers like Air Jordans and Nike Dunks and offer a wide selection of rare models. The team is driven by the desire to make it easy for everyone to get their dream sneakers and delivers an authentic, personalized experience through their online community and store in Aarhus.
Dately, Copenhagen
Dately was founded by Nicolai Mazur with a mission to help couples achieve a deeper, more meaningful connection – sexually, emotionally and spiritually. The company differentiates itself by focusing on the core of relationships, creating experiences and conversations that foster intimacy and closeness. Since its inception, Dately has offered couples a unique platform to strengthen their relationships and break barriers at a time when true intimacy can be in short supply. Mazur believes that strong relationships happen when we make time for what really matters – each other.
Børneloppen, Vallensbæk
Børneloppen was started by two moms with a passion for giving children’s clothes and equipment a longer life. Founded as a franchise in 2016, the company now has 14 stores with over 100 employees. Børneloppen has made it both easy and fun to recycle for kids, with a focus on protecting the environment and saving families money. The vision is clear: Børneloppen wants to be the preferred sustainable marketplace for families with children, where shopping becomes an experience – with a clear conscience. Through a unique IT system and cozy stores, Børneloppen has put recycling at the center, where community and bargains go hand in hand.
