Do you have a new payment solution in the pipeline? An idea for a green invention that could change the world? Or an almost-ready recipe for the next big, plant-based trend?

If your idea has innovation and scalable potential, you can get help developing and scaling it through Beyond Beta, regardless of industry. Denmark’s largest accelerator program has both Accelerace, TechBBQ, the regional Erhvervshuse and the Danish clusters behind it.

“600 startups have been through the program, and we’re trying to get rid of one size fits all and instead tailor programs based on the individual startup. We can only offer that tailored sparring, market-oriented expertise, and access to network and potential customers because we have a large circle of partners across specific sectors,” says Anne Neerup Handlos, Program Manager at Beyond Beta.

A flexible startup education

Beyond Beta targets early-stage startups that have developed a product or service and are on the path to commercialisation.

The program gives founders a basic education in building scalable startups that are interesting to private investors, based on proven models and experiences from working with hundreds of other startups. However, the program is not linear: It’s customised to the needs of each company, and all camps are online so that participants can join from all over the country.

“There are a number of camps, but you can jump between them all as needed. We get startups at many levels, and they only have to sit in on, for example, our funding camp or internationalisation course if it makes sense for them,” says Handlos.

Tailored to the individual

Alongside the ongoing online camps, participants get access to mentors who help with sparring, networking and market knowledge within specific industries. If a startup needs specific technical or commercial research or analysis, the program provides the opportunity to purchase it.

“We really try to look at what the specific needs of the startup are and try to put together knowledge based on that,” says Handlos and adds:

“We often find that startups in Beyond Beta have aha moments when it comes to structuring their business in a way that allows them to get to market quickly and convince private investors of the potential. These startups have limited resources and time – so we try to help them cut out everything unnecessary so they can focus on getting the most important knowledge at the right time.”
