Gin & Tech: Eight exciting startups from Aarhus

@Adam

This post is also available in: Danish

On Thursday afternoon, eight young companies gained access to new knowledge, experience and networks when investors, business people, mentors and others from the startup ecosystem were once again invited indoors for Gin & Tech. Gin and tonics were passed around, visions were discussed and advice was shared for this year’s second edition of the event.

Networking while the sun shines over Aarhus harbor in the background

“With events like Gin & Tech, INCUBA does its very best to give startups a platform where they can share their vision and gain access to amazing knowledge, experience and networks from our great ecosystem here in Aarhus,” says Jacob Mogensen, Director of Acceleration and Investor relations at INCUBA and continues

“One of the tech startups that has pitched at both Gin & Tech and Aarhus Investor Summit is Siana. They have gained mentors, NEW partners and a larger investor network. So if there are startups out there who would like to give it a shot, you are very welcome to contact me and I will find a place for you.”

The 8 startups

  • Attender: was created to reduce student absence and dropout rates with gamification and rewards. They make absence tracking easy for teachers and provide schools with intelligent statistics, and are present in 4 countries.

  • BetterRoomie: ensures that every young person gets a good roomie by using a roomie test and behavioral algorithm that matches needs and preferences.

  • Cacta: Is a spin-out company from the BioMedical Design Novo Nordisk Foundation Fellowship Program at Aarhus University. They are developing an innovative method to detect breast cancer-related lymphedema, a common sequela of breast cancer treatment. They focus on early detection and their methodology includes user involvement, with measurements being carried out in the home.

  • ClearContract: is a tool that assists and optimizes in-house counsel’s time to review and negotiate contracts through AI-powered contract analysis.

  • MultiBiopsy: develops future solutions for tissue sampling in cancer screening – especially lung cancer. The concept will increase diagnostic accuracy and reduce complications and costs.

  • Never Another: makes ‘made to measure’ bras that are tailored to the individual.

  • O-robotics: is a Danish Robot-OEM startup located in Ecopark Aarhus West, producing service and maintenance robots. Currently, O-Robotics is developing a “first of its kind” product, a multifunctional autonomous mobile robot (AMR) for weed control and maintenance of paved areas – AMR-Sweeper.

  • Re-Claim: upcycles bark residues from sawmills into bark panels. There is a focus on both visual design and a healthier environment, in line with the eco trend that includes sustainability and natural materials.
