Aarhus is facing an exciting time as the city’s entrepreneurial community continues to gain international attention, thanks to initiatives such as VC Series, run by Startup Aarhus in collaboration with Founderment and Parabolic.

“In Aarhus, for example, with our VC Series concept, we have seen a lot of interest from foreign venture capital funds. They want to come to the city and meet the founders of startups and our ecosystem. In the past year, we have had funds such as Atomico, Peak, Inreach, HSBC Innovation Banking and Speed Capital visiting us, and there is a great interest in learning more about what the next generation of startups will bring to the table,” says Lasse Chor, Head of Investment at Startup Aarhus.

An afternoon with Crowberry Capital

The upcoming VC Series event, will be hosted at Founderment and feature a special guest – Crowberry Capital. The Icelandic capital fund has a focus on the Nordic tech scene and a clear interest in Aarhus’ unique position in the tech ecosystem. Jenny Ruth Hrafnsdottir, Founder and Partner at Crowberry Capital, says this about the city’s potential:

“We’ve been following the tech ecosystem in Aarhus for a few years, and noticed that the city produces a relatively high number of deep tech companies. But deep tech doesn’t go anywhere without a strong value proposition. We consider the danish ecosystem to be a frontrunner in the Nordics, in regards to commercialization, and Aarhus really combines the strengths of deep tech and a strong customer value proposition. Moreover, with C as in Crowberry, we just want to invest in the city that gave birth to the C++ programming language.”

Aarhus, a hub for innovation

The growing interest from foreign venture capital funds confirms the city’s increasing attention on the global startup scene. IThe attraction of big names in the world of venture capital, is a testament to Aarhus’ talent.

With events that build bridges between local startups and international capital, Aarhus is in a strong position to foster the next generation of startups that will shape the technology landscape of the future.

The VC Series program

The event begins at 15:00 with a welcome from Startup Aarhus and Founderment. Then Crowberry introduces themselves and dives into a topic they are passionate about. The day also provides a space for Q&A, face-to-face meetings and networking opportunities to connect with Crowberry and others in the ecosystem.
